Public Transportation Made me a Better Human Being, and a Mobile Blogger!

Everyone knows the common reasons people use public transportation: cheaper, greener, safer and in some cases even quicker!

But as a blogger I recently discovered that I was wasting between 2 and 3 hours a day in my car driving to and from work depending on the rush hour traffic. I started thinking to myself that if I could use that time to make blog posts, guest posts or even do some social networking and marketing, I would be in pretty good shape!

 

I decided right then and there, that mobile blogging would help me out a lot.

 

I had just recently done an inventory of all my blogging spending habits and decided to cut back a bunch of useless spending and put a bigger portion of my earnings on the important things. I figured why can’t I do the same with my time, because as we all know, in the end time is money, right?

So with my BlackBerry, the love of my life, ok second one after my beautiful wife, I took my show on the road so to speak, and started mobile blogging during my daily commute to and from work.

After a week of doing this, I realized it would take me about the same time to get to work by public transportation as it did by car, and it would cost me 120$ a month for the bus and metro pass as opposed to about 150$ a month worth of gas, so I’m already winning.

 

It’s not just about Blogging!

The best part thought, is that I can do a lot of blog related things on my BlackBerry, you could even use an iPhone or any other smart phone, but I prefer my BlackBerry over an iPhone any day. I obviously answer emails, check Twitter and Facebook, even reply to my blogs comments, but the one thing that I found I could do more of is writing posts for my own blog or as guest posts on other blogs.

I just added over 10 hours a week to my blogging schedule, and saved money in the process, can’t believe I didn’t think of this before!

    You’re such an economic elite! In the process of your day to day commuting it does you pay greater amounts in realizing this idea. You’ve using your time wisely but I wonder if can you do it with FOCUS? Because public vehicles do have many people wandering around, asking questions, and telling stories. I mean those things are keep irritating your focus to do blogging. I think you handle it correctly with all those endeavors. I really appreciate your attitude!
